Nueva Esperanza Cemetery, located in the impoverished district of Villa Maria del Triunfo (Lima). Mourners pay respect while an elder offers prayers. Nueva Esperanza is the largest cemetery in Peru and the second largest in the world. Many graves are unmarked as low-income family members, unable to pay for a proper burial, must bury their loved ones late at night in clandestine graves.
